Rayne Parish Council
Each Year the Parish Council presents Citizenship Awards to villagers who
have made a major contribution to the village or village life.
For this year the Parish Council is delighted to present awards to the
following.
Awards for 2008
Geoff Stone, In recognition of his
contribution to Rayne Village website,
Mike Shaw, In recognition of his contribution
as editor of Rayne in Focus Parish Magazine
Ray Peake, In recognition for his
contribution to maintaining the village environment
David McGregor for voluntary maintenance of
the village green.

Ray Peak was our village groundsman for some ten years before retiring a few
months ago.
Geoff Stone has worked hard for a number of years building and maintaining
the Village Website which played a major part in Rayne winning Calor Village of
the Year ICT category.
Anyone who passes the village green cannot but fail to notice the immaculate
condition of this area which is meticulously maintained by David McGregor.
Mike Shaw has edited the Village Magazine for many years and kept up a high
standard of presentation.

Awarded to
Ken Turner In recognition of his contribution
to Rayne Allotment and Garden Association
Roger & Sue Pertwee In recognition of
their sensitive restoration of a flint wall within the conservation area.
David Lancaster In recognition of his
contribution to the life of the village of Rayne as organist at All Saints
Church for sixty years
Colin Fleming In recognition of his
contribution to Rayne Village Hall Management Committee over many years
Citizenship Award 2006
Awarded to
Jean Lewis. In recognition and gratitude of
her significant contribution to the life of the village of Rayne over many
years
Citizenship Award 2005
Awarded to
Jim Gepp. In recognition and gratitude of his
significant contribution to the life of the village of Rayne over many years
