After many years sitting derelict the old Rayne Foundry site was sold to Knights Development.

Before the bulldozers moved in Knights very kindly allowed members of the Parish Council Access to the site to take photographs and to collect any items of interest for the proposed Village Museum.

Villager Jimmy Gepp was invited along for the visit as he worked in the foundry for many years and was able to provide an interesting insight to the workings of Rayne Foundry and to answer our many questions.

At the time of our visit in spring 2008 the site had become very dangerous in places, the roof was falling in on the main structure, and it was clear that the buildings were going to be demolished none too soon.
