MINERALS EXTRACTION

June 2011

ECC have now included the proposed Gravel Extraction Site at Broadfields Farm, Rayne as a Landfill Site as part of their Waste Development Document published June 2011.

Essex County Council have now placed the site at Broadfields Farm Rayne on their list of preferred sites for Gravel Extraction.

This site, which will cover some 90ha, will have a very serious impact on the local area and Rayne in particular.

ECC deem the present road system capable of supporting such a huge site which would run for an estimated 14 years.

The section of the "MDD Preferred Approach" document that concerns Rayne may be found as a pdf via this link.

Look for the section "A9 Broadfield Farm Rayne"
