PARISH COUNCIL PURCHASE OF "OAK MEADOW"

The Parish Council are now the owners of "Oak Meadow", the land to she side of and behind the present playing field, which was bought around 1953 when the village was a fraction of the size it is now.

The existing circumstances where the playing field is full to overflowing at weekends plus the on going parking problems along Gore Road on these occasions could not continue.
To that end the Parish Council had been seeking extra land for amenity space use and were therefore keen to take up the offer to purchase the "extension" to the present field.

Parish Council now has the responsibility of ensuring that best use is made of the new area now, and for future generations of the village.
An "Amenity Space Committee" had been formed to seek new land for amenity space use and now this has been achieved their focus will be on how best to develop the land for use by the village.

The Amenity Space Committee are working hard to ensure that the area is properly developed and managed and safe for use. However until various surveys of trees etc have been conducted, regrettably, the public are not allowed to use this new area.

A Planning application has now been submitted to Braintree Council for change of use, Application Number 11/00238/FUL

Rayne Parish council would like to publicly thankfor his work on the Planning Application which was undertaken in his spare time and at no cost to the village.
