Refuse Collections in Rayne

Rubbish collection times and dates (Route B4)

From 28 September 2009, Rayne's refuse and recycling day will be Wednesdays.

The first collection on Weds 30 September will be for recycling and green bins.

There will be an additional collection on Thursday 1 October for the grey bin.

BDC will be delivering postcards to all households to advise them of the additional collection shortly.

When setting this years precept the Parish Council were very aware of the present difficult financial situation and sought ways to keep any rise to a minimum.
One of the reductions in spending is to cancel the refuse lorry for collection of household items on a Saturday morning. This will save in the region of £600 each year starting April 2009. The refuse lorry has not been well used recently and with the proposed amenity point at the Springwood industrial area opening in the near future, there is little inconvenience to villagers who put the refuse in their cars to take to the refuse lorry as it may well be possible to do this more regularly with little extra mileage.
