Rayne In The Snow
The snowy conditions overnight on the 1-
Rayne Primary School was shut as were the local Secondary Schools, much to the delight of the students no doubt. Countless snowball fights were seen around the village but few matched the battle raging on at the Barrack Yard end of Capel Road where a snow barricade had been constructed which had been made from blocks of snow that would have done an igloo proud. The defenders valiantly returning the fire aimed at them from about a dozen attackers on the opposite side of the road.
It is also strange that although we get little snow, as soon as we do, countless sledges appear from nowhere and suffering parents are seen dragging their offspring's along in the snow.
